SSC JHT Exam Notification - 2020


SSC Junior Hindi Translator examination is a national level examination conducted by the Staff Selection Commission every year. Eligible candidates are selected for Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator and Hindi Pradhayapak post in various government departments, ministries and organizations.

The aspirants must apply online through the official website of SSC: https://ssc.nic.in/ The application fees is 100 rupees for Unreserved Category and OBC male candidates. Although, Women, SC, ST, PwD and Exservicemen are exempted from fee payment.

SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria

For various SSC JHT posts, the candidates must be 18 years old or above but not greater than 30 years old.

Educational Qualification For postcodes A to D
Master’s Degree of a recognized University or equivalent in Hindi or English with English or Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as a medium of examination at degree level.
OR
Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination.
OR
Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination.
OR
Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level.
OR
Master’s degree in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level.
OR
Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa.
OR
Two years’ experience as a translator from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

Nationality Criteria
The candidate must be the citizen of India.
Or a subject of Nepal.
A subject of Bhutan.
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st of January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
A person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India..

  • Each question carries 1 mark in paper I and 0.25 marks is deducted for each incorrect answer.
  • Paper 2 will have 4 questions. There is no specific marking pattern or negative marking in paper II.
  • Maximum marks for both Paper I and II is 200.
