SSC CHSL Exam Notification - 2020


Staff Selection Commission-Combined Higher Secondary Level (SSC CHSL) exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for the recruitment of candidates in various ministries/departments/offices of the Government of India.

SSC CHSL 2020-21 Exam Date

Due to the Coronavirus pandemic the 2019-20 tier I exams has been postponed. SSC have declared the exam dates for the leftover candidates and these will be conducted from October 12-16, 19-21, and 26, 2020.

The aspirants must apply online through the official website of SSC: https://ssc.nic.in/ The application fees is 100 rupees, although, Women, SC, ST, PwD and Exservicemen are exempted from fee payment.

SSC CHSL Eligibility Criteria

For various SSC CHSL posts, the candidates must be 18 years old or above but not greater than 32 years old.

Nationality Criteria
The candidate must be the citizen of India.
Or a subject of Nepal.
A subject of Bhutan.
A Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st of January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
A person of Indian Origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India..

SSC CHSL Tier-II Exam Pattern and Marks Distribution
Essay writing of 200-250 words and Application/Letter writing of 150-200 words. The minimum marks that candidates need to attain in Tier II exam is 33%. The total marks for SSC CHSL tier II examination 100. The time allocated for the test is 60 minutes and 20 minutes extra (total 80 minutes) is given to PSW candidates.
SSC CHSL Tier III Exam Pattern
Typing test for 15 minutes duration in which candidate must have the speed to write 35 words per minute (English Medium) and 30 words per minute(Hindi Medium). For visually handicapped candidate (40% disabled), 30 minutes is provided for this test.
  • Candidate must qualify the cut off marks to take the next tier exam.

Lower Division Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (LDS/JSA) and Postal Assistants/ Sorting Assistants (PA/SA) The speed of 10500 key depressions per hour will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/key depressions as per the given passage The duration of the test will be for 15 minutes and printed matter in English containing about 9000 key-depressions/hour would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the test computer.
